Your spare coat could save a life
Hands-on Wrap-Up London
A social impact campaign
As the temperature drops, thousands face the cold. On the other side, most have an extra coat in the back of the wardrobe, forgotten or just not quite right. Either way, it can be put to better use, right?
Our goal in 2016 was to help Wrap Up London collect 20,000 coats. We had a simple but powerful idea: Your spare coat could save a life.
The idea wasn’t to guilt-trip but to empower people to donate their spare coats to help others. With a zero budget and a tiny, determined team, we set out to make a difference. As a junior team, we were committed to making it happen and called in every favour we could, from The Big Issue, Evening Standard, and London Live TV. Even a few celebrities lent their voices to the cause.
We ended up with over 22,500 warm coats donated. Proving that local kindness, collaboration, and creativity can go a long way. A budget would have been amazing, but the best part about this one was the fact that everyone jumped on board without a second thought.
